Monday and counting

It is the start of another week and It has been a Monday, Christmas is in a little over a week and I am not any farther along then I was last week. Since I am taking the week after Christmas off I will have to have the month closed out before Christmas. As far as Christmas in general ,I am taking that one day at a time. The Christmas tree is up and that's a plus and as far as everything else I guess that is one day at a time too. Christmas for me is more work then fun so It isn't my favorite time of the year. Now if I was 10 it would be a wonderful time of the year. Friday is Papa kat's and my Anniversary it will be 44 years, So I am taking the day off and we are going to do something special, go out to eat or something like that. I am hoping I can some chores done too. We will see what the day brings, Fingers crossed hoping it all works out in my favor. haha

Kitten is home now

The kitten is home from the hospital . Since she went to Wal-Mart last night I would say she must be on the mend. Her family made her ride in a cart at least.
I made her the jello salad she likes last night and found out she wasn't at home when I called to tell them I would be bringing it over. I wasn't happy about her being out but they had gotten a refund check and I am sure it was burning a hole in some one's pocket. Just hope she doesn't over do it.
Kids they never listen to their parents no matter how old they are.

Kitten doing well

The oldest kitten had surgery and seems like she is doing well. Hopefully she will be home tomorrow. Counting the days until Christmas and my other kitten will be here to visit. Yeah!!!

Sick kitten

Brendie kat has to have surgery next Wednesday, poor kitten, she has to have her appendix removed. Ouch ! She should be good by Christmas if all goes according to plan. One night in the hospital, it is a late surgery and a week off of work. She has been having very high blood pressure lately so they put her on blood pressure med's and hopefully that will help. Hope she will feel better soon,

Full Tummy's

Thanksgiving is over and we still are eating left overs, good but getting a little old. I only did one of the things that were on my list of things to do and that was to to groom all 4 dogs. Thursday, since no one was coming over Papa Kat and I went to the show and saw 2012, we thought it was good. Friday is was a cooking day and eating day. Saturday was leftover day and the bedlam game. Today things were back to normal, no football game. Tomorrow it is back to work and end of month. December is just around the corner!!

Turkey count down

Went shopping for all the Turkey fixin's with list in tow. Hopefully I didn't forget any thing important. Menu is going to be simple, the normal stuff but I am going to have it on Friday in stead of Thursday. Instead of the kids eating two dinners on Thursday I am having it on Friday instead. Today I made pumpkin bread, yummy. Fall is always a nice time to start doing more baking.

Back home again

We finally made the trip to see papa kat's Mom this weekend. Left Saturday morning after Papa kat got his flu shot. The trip was nice, no problems. Papa kat worked on his mom and brother's computer most of yesterday while I visited with his mom and my sister in law. Today we left mid morning and got home in time to give Shadow his shot. Papa kat is napping like he worked hard, however I drove most ot the way while he directed me with his eyes closed. Go figure. Made a few stops at Mickey D's along the way( they have better rest rooms then the quick stops) and now it is time to think about feeding the kat again. Nice to visit but nice to be home again too, now it's back to work tomorrow Yuck.

Weekend is coming to a end.

I had a busy weekend or at least it seemed so. I had a meeting early Saturday morning followed by our monthly fish meeting. The fish meeting didn't last all day for a change. We had a craft kind of a day, learning how to make breeder caves for our fish out of pottery clay. I didn't do so well but it was fun. Then it was off to the grocery store. The one thing I went for Mexican TV dinner for 68 cents were out and would be stocked later. Which means another trip to the store. Today we went to see the Christmas Carol but not the 3 D version it was later. We didn't know they had both versions at the show. It was very good even if it was not in 3D. Then off to the store again. This time Bingo, I came home with 10 TV dinners. Can't beat a 68 cent lunch.
Beef Stew for dinner tonight and apple pie for dessert. Sound Good?

No trip this time

Papa kat still wasn't feeling up to a big trip so we layed low at home. Didn't do to much around the house, I did groom Star. This can be a real adventure she isn't one for being groomed. Made some banana bread since I had a few banana's that were very ripe, it turned out great. Dinner was just some things I grabbed from the freezer so it was a very easy fix. Not ready for another week at work but have to make the do ra me. Don't you hate having to work for food.

Boo!

Papa kat still isn't feeling well but still is thinking about visiting his Mom this weekend. He is going to see how he feels tomorrow. We plan on leaving Saturday morning if it is a go. Happy Halloween!

Coughing

October is almost over and next week is day light problem time again. I sure had the time change. Still coughing but I think I am getting better, Papa kat doesn't think so. He is coughing now and you know when he feels sick the world acccording to him is about to end. Leland, one of Papa kat's uncles passed away on Thursday he had been sick for awhile. Let's hope for a better week.

Cold Bug

The cold bug got me, so I've been under the weather since Thursday. Took it easy this weekend. Papa Kat didn't let me leave the house, this cold is all in my chest. I am hoping it leaves soon, Iam tried of coughing. We are planning on going to see Papa's Kat's Mom next weekend so I hope I feel better and Papa Kat doesn't come down with it. We were going to visit her last month but I was under the weather then so I hope we will make it this time. Chicken Soup is on the menu for dinner tonight, so I am sure I will be on the mend soon. Sounds the Momoko could use some soup too.

Flu Shot Not

Today they were giving free flu shots at the same place we got ours last year, only this year they were only giving free shots in 3 places. We got there early but the line was already wrapped around the building and all the way to the end of the parking lot. So we just drove buy, I guess a free shot is not happening this year. I think that the local pharmacy will get my business instead. It has been rainy lately and my bones are feeling the weather. This getting old is no fun sometimes. On a good note my youngest kitten and family are coming for the holidays!!

Fishy weekend

This week end was busy with our fall fish classic. Saturday

was full of sessions with different topics to learn about and

Sunday was the big fish auction. I didn't sell anything but did buy a

few items. I did come home with a few new fish, nothing fancy.

One of the items didn't make it, by the time I got them home they were on the last fins and floating by morning. Everything else was swimming this morning so that is always good.

Groomed

The weekend is near it's end and as always has gone by to fast. Groomed two dogs and took some mats out of another one. Grocery shopping and dinner fixing sums up the weekend. That's about it.

All wrapped up

Today was our end of month which means that all the paper work and monies for the month needed to be neat and tidy and completed. All went well and another month was wrapped up. I can't believe that it is October already and that little has a Birthday in a few days. The Grand kats can sure make you feel old when they have birthdays and you remember when they were just tiny kittens.

Start of another week

Went to see the new movie Surrogates on Saturday with the kittens and Papa , it was pretty good. Not the best movie of the year but not the worst either.
Sunday we watched the grand kat while her parents attended a meeting in Stillwater. Since they were gone I didn't have to make a big dinner, so that was kind of nice for a change. I was suppose to have a infusion tomorrow but since I still am fighting this infection that is out of the question until everything is healed. If I am not any better by Friday it off to the Dr. again, so far it looks like I will be going. Sure hope not.

Happy days

Got a call today from one of my kittens, seems
they are planning a field trip to my neck of the
woods around Christmas time. Yeah.
Time to start cleaning. I figure if I start now
I might have it done by then.

Mumday is the word

Today was a long day at work even though I left early for a Dr's appointment. The doctors appointment went well, I see him again in a month. My desk was piled high so I do have a long haul in front of me this week. Playing catch up sometimes isn't very much fun. At least the time should go by fast.

Sunday Blues

Tomorrow it is back to work and everything should back to normal again. This is a good thing, sure wish I could have had more fun with my time off.
Today was Sunday so that means I needed to fix dinner for all. I just put some beans in a slow cooker and fixed corn bread to go along with it. It is state fair time and the kittens went to the fair yesterday and brought Papa Kat a Cinnamon roll so he was happy. I wanted to groom a few dogs this weekend but only ended up doing one ,then I ran out of energy. Maybe next week will be better.

Emergency doesn't mean in a hurry!

Monday my trip to the Emergency room was not what you would call quick. Got there around 10 am wasn't seen by a Dr until 2pm and waited in the exam room until 8 while I was finally given a room to spend the night. Surgery the next day and finally home Wednesday night. I am feeling fine and ready for work on Monday. Surgery was to clean a wound and get all the infection out of my body. I go to the Dr. on Monday to take a drain out and a few days later they should take the stitch's out. So I should be brand new in a few days. I would have rather had a different kind of a vacation but at least I had vacation time to use.

Lazy Sunday

This weekend I didn't do to much, my allergies were giving me fits. The new medicine I just got is not working for me. I am off to the Dr. tomorrow to have my skin infection checked, which is getting better, so I think a new medicine is in order. Today for dinner is Chicken soup, rolls and cookies for desert. It was a rainy kind of a day and a good day just to lay around and watch TV. To bad tomorrow starts another week of work. Hopefully it will be a better week.

Still Monday

Let's see yesterday when I got to work the surprise was No Computers! Which is a problem when all your work is done on a computer. So it means taking messages and getting back with customers when the computers are working again. Not Fun! Well the Main frame was finally fixed, it needed a part and we finally were able to take care of customers again. Today was playing catch up but I think everything is on track now. Tomorrow I go to the paw doctor for I hope the finale check up. Hopefully tomorrow will be a Friday!

Tuesday that seemed like Monday

Today seemed just like Monday, problems and all. The bright side is there is only 3 more days to this work week. Maybe no one will have problems that need solving the rest of the week, you think. Called my mother all seems to be going well there way, she is in need of a little tooth repair but is going to see the dentist in a day or two. It's been a long day so time for a snooze.

Mending and cleaning

This has been a nice few days to get caught up on rest and chores. Since I last wrote I had to make a trip to the Dr. had a little skin infection. Now with a shot and some strong med's I think I am on the mend or at least it is not any worse.
I need a few more days to tell, if not it will be back to the Dr. While I was there I got a new prescription of a different allergy medicine maybe this one will work better.
Yesterday I cleaned or a least made a dent in the sewing room or catch all room is a better word for it. We worked on the fish tanks, put a few more fish in the new tank and did water changes.
I woke up this morning to one of the fish that we had put in there on it's last swim. The first fish we put in there is a big fish and he decided the tank was his and needless to say didn't like this other male fish swimming around his rocks. I had put a few small fish in there as well but they are to small for him to feel threaten. So It's either small fish or a bigger fish next time. The fish I did put in there are fish I have extra so the loss of one wasn't a big deal.

Since it is Monday I will be fixing dinner tonight instead of Sunday we are having Pork chops with potatoes cooked with mushroom soup, yummy.
Since it is a holiday for lunch it is SONIC!!!! Sorry no sharing.

No weekend plans

We have a three day weekend coming up and we have nothing planned except staying at home and laying low. Which can be a good thing don't get me wrong , laying around is my thing. I really need to work on cleaning the sewing room but I am not making any promises.

Happy Swimming

This weekend was a good weekend, groomed Shadow as planned.
Set up the 29 gal fish tank that I had gotten a while back at a garage sell. It has been running with water in it, getting the water seasoned. I needed a heater and a pump to complete the set up. Finally got around to doing that. So now the tank has a fish in it, a test fish you might say, he seems to be having a nice time swimming in a big tank. We got Star her collar too, she looks cute with her new collar. We put her rabies tag on it and it makes a little jingle noise, so you can hear her coming, she doesn't like it much. Now we hear jingle jingle from both girls. Sweet.

Lawn Mowed

Davkat came by and mowed the lawn but while driving in the drive way he hit the little car and broken the tail light. Guess we will have to go to pull apart or get us some red tape to fix it. Momoko sounds like she is enjoying her new class she is teaching this year. Has Black started his class and does he like it?

They evening is getting late and I have some tele to watch before hitting the sheets..later

Ragweed blowing in the wind

The weather is hot today, we have a few more days of hot weather before a cool front comes thru which should lower the temp by about 10 degrees with also gives us a chance of rain. The lawn needs to be mowed but we need to wait on Davkat to schedule us in, since it is hot today I am sure it will be later on this week. Ragweed in blowing in the wind so allergies are at a all time high.
Sneeze, sneeze, sniff ,sniff I need better drugs!

Just hanging around

Just hanging around waiting for Monday. This weekend just went by to fast. Yesterday we picked up the Angel food and went to the grocery store but never made it to Pet Smart. Poor Star is still with out a new collar. I wll have to fix that on Monday. Papa kat had a friend call with a computer problem so that ended our adventures for the day. Papa kat went to the Computer auction and then to his friends to fix the problem. He has to go back on Monday to do a little more work on it but he got it running enough to make his friend happy. Today was a lazy day watched some movies and fixed dinner. Trying something new, so we will have to see how it goes over. Chicken noodle casserole, sounds good right.

Great Meal

Today we celebrated Papa kat's Birthday at the local all you can eat place. Now I am stuffed!

Tomorrow Papa Kat is going to the computer auction, which is just a flea market with computer stuff. He needs a few things to fix a computer for one of his relatives, so he will be doing that tomorrow morning. I need to go to the pet store and pick up a new collar for Star, she is out growing the one she has had since she was a puppy, she now is 7 months old. I also need to pick up a few things from the grocery store. I am sure there is more on my list for tomorrow but I am trying to forget. ... Later.

Papa Kat's Big Day

Today was Papa's Kat's Birthday, I took the day off of work so we could go to the casino . That was what he had wanted for his Birthday. We don't go very often, getting a little extra isn't something that comes easy. We went and made a deposit but he seemed to have fun. I did win but donated it to his Birthday wish.
We had stopped of at McD's for a biscuit and then after wards stopped off a Furr's for a late lunch early dinner. Tomorrow it is back to work but it has been a nice day off. Today it rained again but it looks like the rest of the week is clear. We have had a lot of rain lately which we usually don't have in August. All the other schools in the area started today, so I guess summer is over.

Good Movie

Today we went to see District 9, it was very slow at the beginning and very boring. You would have even turned it off if you were watching it at home.
Then somewhere in the middle it all came together and grabbed you and you came away saying wow! I groomed 2 dogs and we put water in the fish tank I got last week, so it could start to stabilize. That sounds about it for the weekend chores.

Cheddars

Yesterday we went to Cheddars a new restaurant that opened in Midwest City on Monday. This is the place we decided to go to celebrate Davkat's birthday. The line was long, when we signed up they said 15 minutes but it didn't look a 15 minute wait to me. Well 15 minutes was more like a hour. When we received our food both BreKat's and my potato and side dishes were luke warm. So when the waiter came back we told him,. I wasn't wanting them to do anything, just let them know,since they were new and needed to work out some things. The manager came over and comped our meals, so we all eat for free. We gave the waiter a very nice tip. The food that was hot was very good. I think we will go back again when the lines aren't so long. Tomorrow our plans are to see District 9.

SCHOOL BUS TRAFFIC

Nothing much is knew here. Today the alarm people came out to fix our security system is was flashing a FS code which meant it was not communicating with something or other. It is fixed now. Tomorrow I go and get my hair cut. Friday were are suppose to go out and eat for Davkat's birthday. Hope he picks out some place good, his taste buds sometimes are different then mine. It's his choice so I guess I will have to live with it know matter what. Tomorrow one of the grand kittens will start back to school. I am not looking forward to the buses in the morning. I always seem to get behind one.

On the mend

Went to the paw Dr today, everything is going as expected.

Still have to wear the boot any time I will be on my feet for more then 30 minutes. I will need to get a transition pair of shoes on payday but the swelling will still be with me for a while. I can wear some compression stocking to help with that.

I can't wait.

Garage Sale Find

Papa Kat and I were running some errands when we happened upon
a garage sale that had a fish tank for sale. It was a 29 gal Hiline which is like two 15 on top each other so for $7.00 it was a good deal. We decided to look at a few more garage sales and found a stand which came with a 10 gal tank. So for $12.00 I got a 29 gal ,10 gal and a stand that fits them both.
Now I have to find some place to put it. I can always sell it at the fish meeting if I decide not to keep it.

Missing hearing from Tator and Bubba

What's up, Haven't been hearing from the the young ones. I guess they are having to much fun this summer. I know that they will be coming home soon. The dreaded school starts soon so maybe then the Tator will write again.
I did hear from Momoko today, that's always very nice. She did tell me that the young ones are still live and kick'n, So that makes me very happy.

Feeling Full and Broke

Fixed pork chops for dinner with a little baked potato on the side. Now I am feeling full.

Today we decided to pay a Kohl's' bill via the phone, we normally write a check. Now that the stamps have gone up we are trying to pay everything either on line or over the phone. Papa kat had the job of getting that done.

The account is in my name, so of course that wouldn't take money from him. I called and it would be a $5.00 charge over the phone but we could do it on line for free. Many moons ago Papa Kat had set up a password on the account and of course I could not figure it out. It gave you that hint that you always have to check when you set one up. Now did he put his birth place or mine. Both didn't work so another phone call was in order. She gave me the answer to the hint, which was the town and the state but Papa kat had abbreviated the state not like it should have been so I would have never figured it out. Now everything is paid but they sure didn't make it easy, just to pay a bill.

You would think they would take money from anyone, Guess not.

Dumplin time

Today I did the snail thinning out thing and cleaned the front of the tanks and changed a filter.
That was my work on the tanks for the day.
Dinner was homemade chicken and dumplings, Very yummy. Davkat brought over some french bread that just hit the spot with the soup. Now that my tummy is full I could take a short nap but bed time is just around the corner.
Today I decided it was time to wear a shoe around the house on the foot I had surgery on. To my surprise nothing fit, guess it is still swollen , at least enough that I can't wear any of my shoes. Bummer. Next week I go to the Dr. to see how much longer I will have to wear the boot. So If I don't have to wear it then I guess new shoes will be in order but do I get two sizes??

Good Fishy day

Went to the fish meeting and the talk was about algae and a small talk about snails. They both were interesting long and the short of it was you can't really get rid of snails. Once a week I normally just weed them out. I did get some good deals on some fish, spent a total of $20.00 and 10 of it was for a pair of panda cory catfish. The others were some assorted swords, all were very small fry.

I decided since I had small babies it was time to move my other small fish in the tank with bigger fish. Which means in order to catch them I had to move all the rocks out and also be very quick with the net. Now because I was moving these fish in a tank with bigger fish I have to move the rocks around in that tank too, I didn't have to take them out just move them around to change their territories. Now everyting is in the correct tank. Tomorrow I will have to thin out the snails and watch the new fish swim around. They are so cute.

The EOM was a breeze. I wish they all were like this. Now the weekend is on it's way, yeah.
Tomorrow I have a fish meeting, I haven't been in several
months so Iam ready to go to one. Went to the grocery store on the way home picked up a few things. Now Cherry's just happen to fall in to the shopping cart. They were on sale, the cheapest I have seen but still couldn't aford many but enough for a nice snack. Yum

Taco Munchen

After a long day at work, Papa kat decided that taco's were in order. I agreed, since I didn't have to cook, so a quick swing by the local Taco place on the way home was in order. Yum , Papa kat had a good idea and all the dishes went into the trash, double yeah.

Why is it that the weekend goes by so fast?

Now I know that there is only two days on the weekend and five on the week days but Iam sure the weekend should last longer. It is the EOM week, so I am trying to get everything done before Friday, so far it looks like it will be done on time. Other then that nothing is new.

Beans and Cornbread

Yesterday was a lazy day.
Papa kat and Brekat went to the computer auction to get some parts for her computer, after that Papa had to take a long nap.
You know that kats like napping all the time and so does Papa kat.
I decided I would play my game, had not done that in awhile. Leftovers for dinner so that made things easier.
My mother called to say my brother was back in the hospital. He had a infection but should beable to go home today.
Today I will pick up the house and make dinner. We are having beans and cornbread. Have to tighten up the pocket book until payday. Papa is off to the store to pick up bread and milk. He likes driving the new car. Davkat rode in the car yesterday with Papa kat, he doesn't like it because it doesn't have enought head room for him.
Oh well.

Escape to freedom

Today has been a draining kind of a day. Nothing special or eventful but just tiring. I really don't have much to say, how boring is that.
Today the dogs did have quick flight of freedom. We had a roof inspector come to check out our roof . We had a storm the other day and our shingles were standing up on end on part of the roof. The estimate of course was less then our deductible. He said we should just be able to patch it. He left the gate open and the dogs just saw freedom. The neighbor let Papa know that they were out but they decided home was better and came back on their own. So that was a very good thing.
